This is a big stage for the Horned Frogs, as they enter their second season as members of the Big 12. It’s a huge opportunity for TCU to knock off one of the top-tier teams in the SEC. They should have a nice crowd backing, being in the state of Texas but LSU fans travel very well.
The Tigers could be a team that can almost be considered overlooked this season. That’s tough to say from an SEC power, but with Alabama and Texas A&M in the West division it’s easy to see why. Obviously Alabama garners plenty of attention for the national championships. And for the Aggies there hasn’t been a player to receive more press in history than Johnny Manziel.
LSU is still perceived to be the No.1 contender to Alabama in the West, but will have to go on the road to Tuscaloosa.
First they must tangle with the Horned Frogs though, who will be coming in trying to pull the upset. LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger will be a key player in this one, now in his second season as the starter.
For TCU, they return plenty of talent, including bringing back quarterback Casey Pachall who played in only four games last season. The Horned Frogs will be without the Big 12 player of the year on defense Devonte Fields, who is suspended who two games. That will definitely hurt TCU defensively in this one.
