It’s the triumphant return of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, who didn’t play at all during the preseason. Griffin is coming back from an knee injury, and the saga surrounding his road to recovery has been well documented.
All of that talk will be able to be put aside once kickoff comes Monday night against the Eagles in what will be a very highly anticipated debut for Griffin.
The same could be said for the new Chip Kelly offense in Philadelphia. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Eagles this season, though for as much excitement there is there is also the element of the unknown.
Michael Vick appears to be the right fit for this type of system and it will be interesting to see how quickly and fast-paced the Philadelphia offense is able to go. Kelly obviously likes to operate very fast, so Washington’s defense will have to have to try to adapt to the playing style.
The Redskins defense should prepare to be run up and down the field and substitutions could be important in this one. You have to think that Washington has been practicing for that all week long leading up to this.
