This is a big game for both teams from a national perspective, with there not being any conference implications. But the victor here will get a significant boost in the rankings and in terms of the way that they are perceived.

UCLA enjoyed a week off after opening with Nevada at home to a 58-20 victory. The Bruins ran for 345 yards in that contest and will look to run the ball on Nebraska as well. But UCLA might find it more difficult to do so. The Cornhuskers are a much tougher opponent to face, and will be prepared against the run because they go up against Taylor Martinez everyday in practice.

We know that Nebraska will try and run the ball as well, so UCLA better be prepared to get a heavy dose of that. Chasing around Martinez all day when he is flushed out of the pocket won’t be an easy task either. Martinez is arguably the best running quarterback in all of college football.

After surviving an opening week scare to Wyoming, the Cornhuskers bounced back nicely with a dominating win over Southern Miss. Martinez has six touchdown passes to just one interception through two games, which is a good sign that perhaps Nebraska can move towards more of a passing game on offense.

This will definitely be a nice game to start off Saturday with, leading into the highly anticipate Texas A&M vs. Alabama showdown later in the afternoon at 3:30 pm ET.
