It will be a new-look Indianapolis team following the mega trade between them and the Cleveland Browns which brings in 2012 first-round running back selection Trent Richardson. He was the No.3 overall pick last year and is the biggest weapon on offense for a struggling Browns team.
But the Colts made a big move to bring him in, and with Andrew Luck, this tandem appears to be ready to challenge for the AFC right now. Richardson will be in an Indianapolis uniform this Sunday and will likely get some significant playing time.
Going up against the tough run defense of the 49ers isn’t ideal, especially when the running back would be just getting used to his new teammates and blocking system. There will be some basic blocking schemes implemented one would have to think.
As for San Francisco, they are coming off of a loss 29-3 to division rival Seattle. The Seahawks dominated the 49ers on both sides of the ball, and the team needs to regroup to avoid a 1-2 start.
One of these two playoff teams from last season will be 1-2 though, and behind the 8-ball early in the season. San Francisco is at home, which makes them a bigger favorite, though they would likely be the favorite on the road in this one as well.
