The Bengals all of a sudden look like they could be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC come playoff time. Cincinnati has won four-straight games, the latest of which was a 49-9 thrashing of the New York Jets this past Sunday.
What’s really good news for the Bengals is the way that quarterback Andy Dalton is performing. Dalton had five touchdown passes against the Jets. Not only that though, Cincinnati now has the seventh-ranked passing offense in the NFL.
Cincinnati has opened up a 2.5-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North, and are three games in front of the Cleveland Browns.
While the Bengals are going up, the Dolphins are going in the opposite direction. Suddenly, that 3-0 start seems like a lifetime ago after four losses in a row. Miami is now 3-4 on the season, the latest loss to the New England Patriots after blowing a 17-3 lead at halftime.
The schedule isn’t doing the Dolphins any favors with the Bengals coming to town and it looks like a tough matchup.
Miami turned the ball over three times against New England, spearheading the Patriots comeback to win the game. That can’t happen against Cincinnati. The Bengals have one of the top NFL defenses and are definitely aggressive in trying to get after the ball.
