Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons Week 10 NFL Game Preview

The Seattle Seahawks travel to the Georgia Dome Sunday in Week 10 to take on the struggling Atlanta Falcons. This NFC Divisional playoff matchup doesn’t have the luster that it looked like it would at the start of the season, but the Seahawks are known to have some issues away from their home stadium. Of course we mention the struggles of Seattle on the road, and then get right into what almost happened to them at home against a winless Tampa Bay team. The Buccaneers got out to a 21-0 lead, and the Seahawks pulled off the largest comeback win in team history. Seattle won 27-24 in overtime.

Atlanta lost on the road to Carolina 34-10 to fall to 2-6 on the season and pretty much out of the playoff conversation. It’s been a combination of factors that has led to this disappointing Falcons season. Injuries to Julio Jones and Roddy White have been particularly devastating, and only just now have they gotten Steven Jackson back. Jackson remains limited though, seeing 13 carries against the Panthers for 57 yards.

The Falcons will probably be a rare home underdog in this one. Matt Ryan has been great over the course of his career in the Georgia Dome, but it’s hard to see the Falcons pulling this one off.

Seattle’s vulnerability has shown through the last two weeks, though they won both of those contests. The Seahawks need to get back to running Marshawn Lynch up the middle. That was what won the game in overtime for them.
