Carolina Panthers / SF 49ers

This should be a great matchup on both sides of the ball for both teams. The 49ers one struggle this season is passing the ball as they rank dead last in the NFL with 189.9 yards per game. In the teams two losses this season Colin Kaepernick has thrown for less than 150 yards in each game with zero touchdowns. Their running game and top ranked defense have kept them in every game this season.

For the Panthers they need to overcome the cross country trip if they want to win this matchup. The Panthers have won four of their last seven games on the west coast since the 2008 season including losing to the Arizona Cardinals in the 2008 playoffs. This will also be their first game against a team with a winning record since starting the season against the Seattle Seahawks who currently sit at 8-1.

The Panthers are led by third year quarterback Cam Newton and linebacker Luke Kuechly. Newton has passed for 1,801 yards, 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions on the season. He is also second on the team with 251 yards rushing and tied for the team lead with four rushing touchdowns. Kuechly leads the defensive unit in tackles with 64 and interceptions with three. Kuechly and the Panthers rank tenth against the pass and second against the run in the NFL.

They will have their toughest test of the season as they take on a 49ers running attack that ranks number one in the NFL. Frank Gore leads the way with 618 yards and seven touchdowns. The team has a total of 1,224 yards on the ground and 15 rushing touchdowns.

This will be a physical game with the team that makes the biggest play in the running game will win.
