The matchup between the Baylor Bears and the Oklahoma State Cowboys Saturday in Stillwater could be for the Big 12 championship. Sure, it’s not a championship game (there isn’t one in the Big 12), but it is a battle between the top-two teams in the conference and a win would put that team a step closer to securing an automatic BCS Bowl berth and perhaps beyond. That is especially true if Baylor is able to go on the road and get the win to remain undefeated and alive for the national championship.

The Bears will put the top-scoring offense out there on the field and dare the Cowboys to try and slow them down; something that no team has been able to do thus far.
But Oklahoma State has the top-ranked scoring defense in the Big 12, ranking 14th in the country. The Cowboys give up just 19 points per game. Baylor scores 61 points per game. You have to think that the Bears will score more than 19 points in this one, but will Oklahoma State be able to limit them enough to score with them? That is the big question.
Of course, the Cowboys have no problems scoring themselves, putting up 40.4 points per game. That is good for 14th in the country as well, as they are as balanced as it comes in scoring.
Oklahoma State has won six in a row since their lone loss of the season to West Virginia in September. The Cowboys destroyed a hot Texas team in Austin 38-13, which set the stage for this huge showdown in the conference.
Baylor moved up to fourth in the BCS standings and are just a fraction of a point point Ohio State. A victory over a top-10 team would almost guarantee that the Bears move up to No.3. And with the top-two teams still facing challenges both on and off the field, there are plenty of things that can happen.
