The Broncos currently sit at 9-1 tied with the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks for the best record in the NFL. The Broncos currently hold the tiebreaker over the Chiefs coming off an impressive 27-17 victory over them last weekend. The Patriots enter this matchup with a 7-3 record and tied with the Indianapolis Colts for the second seed in the AFC. Despite having two of the best records in the NFL this is about the quarterback matchup as Brady and Manning face off for the fourteenth time. This game can be seen on Sunday Night Football starting at 8:30pm ET on NBC.
This will be the second time these two teams have played since Manning signed with the Broncos last off-season. Brady got the best of him in the first matchup despite being outplayed for the entire game. Stevan Ridley and the rushing game led the way as they scored three rushing touchdowns and rushed for 251 yards. This time around this may be difficult as the Broncos rank fourth in yards allowed on the ground, with less than a hundred yards a game. Manning finished last year’s game with 337 passing yards and three touchdowns in the loss. The Broncos finished the game with three lost fumbles including one by Manning.
The teams are different on both sides as Manning has a ton of weapons on the offensive side of the ball including former Patriot Wes Welker. Welker is expected to play after suffering a concussion in last week’s win against the Chiefs. Brady on the other hand has made due with a very young receiving corps and Rob Gronkowski who recently returned from multiple off-season surgeries. The quarterbacks are the same as they prepare to face off for the fourteenth time in their career. Brady holds a 9-4 record over Manning despite having fewer passing yards and touchdowns.
The excitement continues to build as we get ready for a Sunday Night showdown between two of the greatest to ever play the quarterback position. Will Brady walk away with his tenth win or will Manning get the best of this match up?
